The primary motive behind mentoring/counseling at school level is to address the emotional, social and behavioral needs of the students. And to create a seamless and friendly environment to help each one of them with different approaches. The mentoring faculty encourages and motivates the students in their academic life in the school.
The school councellor is called as mentor. The school counsellor acts as a mediator between the teacher, the student and the parent. It is very important for the mentor to remain cognizant of the role of the teacher in the wellbeing of the student within the school.
In helping students understand their learning needs and blocks, such as equipping them with study skills and social skills. Academic guidance is often necessary for children that are unable to get it at home, or have a paucity of resources to equip them with specific knowledge otherwise.
