PRAYER FOR PEACE is written by St. Francis of Assisi. It is the anthem of St. Francis Family of Institutions. Peace is the aspiration of humanity. St. Francis of Assisi was a promoter of Peace. Therefore, one of the educational aims of St. Francis High School is to promote PEACE as proclaimed by St. Francis of Assisi and the Congregation of the Franciscan Missionary Brothers.
The Peace Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi is always sung devotedly and reverentially every day in St. Francis High School. Every single morning, his prayer “make me an instrument of your peace” reverberates through the campus. It is an endeavour taken seriously at St. Francis High School that his prayer of replacing doubt with faith and despair with hope becomes a reality.
OUR SCHOOL ANTHEM
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen!
